  • Radio Prague - Czech cyber security preparedness still lacking
been forged But a lot of questions still seem to be posed For one thing the line between public and private which is drawn by the laws on Czech cyber security are not quite so clear cut on the ground State institutions and strategic state companies often outsource part of their IT and cyber security responsibilities to private companies Some may store key date in cloud systems that might be based far away from the country Tomáš Flídr photo archive of Czech Institute of Security Managers And Czech companies which have for the most part been immune from largescale cyber attacks so far are according to some experts not that well prepared for what could be coming their way as increasing amounts of key client and company data are amassed day to day This is what Czech IT expert and member of the Czech Institute of Security Managers Tomáš Flídr has to say about the cyber security preparedness of Czech companies They are certainly not prepared very well but they are improving and in some sectors they are improving very rapidly The problem is motivation because top management of the company has to be ready and consider cyber security as the main topic and unfortunately that often does not happen Flídr warns as well that some companies when faced with fulfilling their legal cyber security responsibilities actually prefer to take a fine rather than do the work required because it comes out as a cheaper option in the short term Tools Send by email Subscribe to RSS Print Social bookmarking Tweet Česky Deutsch English Español Français Pусский Featured 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Most Popular Symbol of help for refugees attacked in Prague 08 02 2016 15 35 Ian Willoughby On Saturday evening hours after anti Islamic demonstrations in Prague around 20 masked men attacked a social centre in the city that More Prague transit company looking for feedback on new EVO1 05 02 2016 15 36 Jan Velinger The Prague Public Transport Authority has begun field testing a new tram the low floor EVO1 As of Monday this week commuters on More 08 02 2016 16 16 Far right focus on migrants taking heat off Roma at least for now says Czechs Against Czechs maker Tomáš Kratochvíl 02 02 2016 16 17 Czech town bikes gear up after first wave of success 13 02 2016 Čížov the last fragment of the Iron Curtain Also in this edition National Museum says contractors liable for blaze damages Dominik Jůn A blaze raged overnight on the roof of the National Museum atop Prague s Wenceslas Square The contractors involved insist that adequate More Related articles Police extend investigation into leak of PM s emails to consider blackmail 12 01 2016 11 36 Ian Willoughby The police have extended their investigation into the leaking of emails by Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka to take in possible blackmail More PM requests security audit at Office of the Government 11 01 2016 18 17
